The Secret to Writing Better Songs

Last night, my two boys (6yrs & 4yrs old and I recorded one of the strangest tracks I’ve ever made.

No structure.
No rules.
Just curiosity.

And somehow… it reminded me of one of the most important principles inside my Thousand Echoes songwriting toolkit:

Repetition With Evolution.

Repetition keeps a listener grounded.
Evolution keeps them interested.

The brain loves patterns.
The heart loves surprise.

Lately, I’ve realized this doesn’t just apply to songwriting.

It applies to:

• How I’m training for tour

• How I’m rebuilding energy at 44

• How I’m showing up for my kids

• How I’m taking care of my health this winter

Mastery isn’t intensity.

It’s intelligent repetition.
