AI Can 'Generate' Songs — But It Can’t Make You an Artist

A reaction to author Brandon Sanderson's Keynote Speech.

Last week, Brandon Sanderson gave a keynote that really hit me.

Not because of AI hype.
But because of what it revealed about why we create at all.

He said something that’s been echoing in my head ever since:

“The process of making art makes art of YOU.”

AI can generate a song in seconds.
It can mimic style. Structure. Even emotion.

But it can’t stay up til 3 a.m. rewriting a bridge because the lyric isn’t honest yet.
It can’t fail its way into a unique voice or perspective.
It can’t become someone through its infinite outputs of song generation.

I just released a new video reacting to Sanderson’s talk — and I’m tying it ALL directly to songwriting, AI tools like Suno, and the uncomfortable truth we’re all circling right now. I’d love to have you join the conversation.

If you’ve ever written a “terrible” song that secretly changed you forever…
This one’s for you.
